If you missed the interview… It aired on

Here are a few things they discussed and did:

  • Lesley and Adrian walked around the farm to see where the Free range bronze turkeys roam eating grubs and nettles.

  • Whilst they walked Lesley asked Adrian about his Grandfather Frank Joy & how he started the business 90 years ago in 1929. (see our Gallery of photos from the 1930s)

  • They talked about the challenges of how there is an overall culture for cheap food in the UK. The French spend 80% of their disposable income compared to 13% in the UK.

  • The stags were very well behaved during the interview, they laughed (well gobble-gobbled) when Lesley laughed & didn’t peck their legs too much.

  • We were lucky enough to see two deer bounding across in a nearby field whilst Lesley was here.

  • Adrian showed Lesley how curious the turkeys are, and both ran towards the top end of the fields and the hens followed them.

  • They talked about how Bramble Farm gives their birds twice the space as some high welfare organisations recommend, so lots of space to roam and display their natural habits.
